First, feel at ease. Pay attention to what question he asked.
Second, prepare for something about your interest, the name of the courses
you have taken, what kind of research you have done, etc. You can write them
down on a piece of paper. When you are asked by such kind of questions, you
just read out according to the words you have written on the paper. But do pay a
ttention that you should keep your speed so that he will not think you are recit
ing.
Third, prepare some words for greeting and thankness. Say something like" I do a
ppreciate that you give me such a good chance to talk to you." "Thank you very m
uch!"

I had an interview in  March. It is not very difficult. At last the Chair
on the line said," Your English is good." So I passed it. If the professor
asks you if you have any interest to go to there, do not forget to mention
your financial problem. You can say," Yes, I want to. But you know, I can
not go without full financial aid. "

As to tel num, you find a place where he can phone you without any trouble.
Pay attention to the time lag between the US and China. You tell him the time an
d the num. Then wait for him to call you.
