This hilarious mockumentary spoofs the culture of the hard-rock world 
with sustained brilliance. Director Rob Reiner plays the filmmaker who 
interviews the monumentally dimwitted members of the fictional band, 
captures the behind-the-scenes bickering among groupies, girlfriends, 
roadies, and managers (several celebrities show up in cameos), and 
shoots the faux-concert footage. Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, 
and Harry Shearer are right on target as the vain, self-absorbed 
British rockers whose careers are disintegrating. The clever script, 
written by McKean, Guest, Shearer, and Reiner, is so intensely funny 
that the viewer must hang on every word: comic gems spill forth almost
