1. Senior R&D Engineer - Electric Power Systems
Responsibilities:
·  Participate and lead global R&D projects on electric power systems relate
d to distributed generation, FACTS, motor drives, and other large power elec
tronics equipment interconnected to power grids.
Requirements:
·  Ph.D. or MS with experience in E.E. In depth knowledge on operation, cont
rol, analysis and modeling of power systems and equipment.  Experience with 
simulation tools such as EMTP or EMTDC.
·  Desired: Familiar with power electronics applications in power transmissi
on and distribution. Experience on power quality, harmonics, and transient a
nalysis.
2. Senior R&D Engineer - Power Electronics Engineer
Responsibilities:
·  Participate and lead global R&D  projects as applied to power systems, mo
tor drives, power supplies, lighting electronics, and medical electronics , 
Responsible for reliability programs in research and development of new elec
trical and electronic systems,
Requirements:
·  Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or M.S.  with min. 3 years 
experience or equivalent with strong theoretical background.
·  Knowledge of power electronic circuits and systems including devices, cir
cuit topologies, and thermal design/analysis.  Expertise in simulation tools
 such as Saber, PSpice, Matlab/Simulink.
·  Desired: Hands-on experience in building power electronic circuits and sp
ecific experience in lighting electronics.
3. Senior R&D Engineer - Electrical Quality & Reliability
Responsibilities:
·  Responsible for reliability programs in research and development of new e
lectrical and electronic systems,
·  Perform component, card, and system level analysis to determine design ma
rgin, predict reliability and suggest changes to improve the reliability. De
velop reliability models and tools for complex electrical and electronic sys
tems.
Requirements:
·  Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, or M.S. B.S with experience in the area o
f electrical/electronics systems or advanced electronics design and developm
ent with emphasis on reliability and quality
·  Desired: familiar with power systems and power electronic components such
 as transformers, capacitors, MOSFETs, Power Transistors, etc. CAD and circu
it modeling experience. Experience on electric power systems reliability is 
a plus.
4. Senior R&D Engineer - Real-Time Controls
Responsibilities:
·  Real-time SW/HW development for advanced electrical and electromechanical
 energy conversion systems. Responsible for real-time control software, DSP 
and control hardware design, FPGA logic development, system simulation, real
-time executive and infrastructure development.
Requirements:
·  PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechantronics, or Computer Sci
ence, or MS with practical laboratory experience,
·  Strong software skills - C, C++ expertise. Analog and digital circuit des
ign skills. Strong simulation skills desired. Experience on DSP, Verilog/VHD
L logic programming/simulation, and real-time C code development is a real p
lus. Experience with electric motors, power electronics, drives, servos, sig
nal processing and the controls. Experience with serial communications links
 such as CANbus, DeviceNet, Profibus. Experience with circuit design tools
5. Senior R&D Engineer - Electric Machines & Electromagnetics
Responsibilities:
·  Design of advanced electric machines, electromagnetics for electronic pro
ducts, and development of electromagnetic design tools.
Requirements:
·  PhD in Electrical Engineering or MSEE with experience and strong theoreti
cal understanding of electromagnetics and electrical machinery. Skills in el
ectromagnetic modeling/analysis and experienced with FE tools.
·  Desired: Strong computer skills. Knowledgeable in the application of powe
r electronics to machine control. Experience in the design of high frequency
 inductors, induction motors, and PM synchronous motors.
6. Senior R&D Engineer - Analog/ Digital Design
Responsibilities:
·  Analog/mixed signal design with roles including system and architecture s
imulation, and analog sub-block design at the transistor level.
·  Develop mixed signal IC's for use in GE products utilizing advanced BiCMO
S and CMOS processes. Discrete time and continuous time circuits as well as 
a digital content.
Requirements:
·  MS in Electrical Engineering with analog or mixed-signal design experienc
e,
·  Knowledge on IC design process using both bipolar and CMOS processes as a
pplied towards developing high speed and high precision analog products. Pri
nciples of CMOS and Bipolar device physics and a basic knowledge of linear c
ircuit principles is required.  Demonstrated proficiency in circuit design, 
analysis and effective use of CAE/CAD design tools, and knowledge in low noi
se system design. Desired: Ph.D. in Engineering or Physics with specific com
petence in system partitioning and in CMOS analog/digital design techniques,
 simulation, layout, and testing. Demonstrated knowledge in DSP design.
7. Senior R&D Engineer - Image Quality Algorithms
Responsibilities:
·  R&D tasks in a collaborative team environment on projects as applied to C
T, X-Ray, Ultrasound and MRI. Responsible for image reconstruction algorithm
, image quality improvement, and related SW/HW development.
Requirements:
·  PhD or MS with experience in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering or related
 fields. In depth knowledge of digital signal processing and digital image p
rocessing. Experience on software development. Strong theoretical background
 with expertise in simulation tools such as Matlab, IDL.
·  Desired: Specific experience in medical instruments. Electronic hardware 
design experience. Experience with C, C++.
8. Senior Research Scientist - Optical Modeling and Design
Responsibilities:
·  Development on optical metrology methods, optical modeling, or optical ch
aracterization,
·  Ability to translate fundamental advances in optics and related technolog
ies into practical solutions.
Requirement:
·  Ph.D. or master with experience in physics or other disciplines in engine
ering, strong background in optical physics, electromagnetic wave propagatio
n, knowledge on photon propagation in optical fibers (single or multi mode) 
and optical propagation in display screens, or lamp designs. Familiar with o
ptical modeling programs e.g., ASAP, Zemax, Code5, Light Tools, OptiCAD or c
ustom-made modeling programs. Signal processing, programming experience in J
ava, C, C++ will be a plus.
9. Senior R&D Engineer - Lamp Design / Heat and Mass Transfer
Responsibilities:
·  Work as Design Engineer in a group that supports Lighting technologies an
d Lamp System Development and Testing, as well as Design and Quality improve
ments. Interface and cooperate with other groups and GE R&D Center and Busin
esses.
Requirements:
·  PhD in physics, chemical engineering, chemistry, or equivalent with stron
g skills for design and analysis of discharge lamps, Heat and mass transfer 
analysis (ANSYS, FLUENT), plasma physics and chemistry, analytical skills (u
se of computers), component design and integration.  Communication skills - 
oral and report writing.  Creative and ability to promote and present new id
eas.
·  Desired: Min 5  years of design experience, direct lamp design experience
 including Plasma Physics, Lamp Chemistry, Optics, experience in laboratory 
diagnostics for lamps and optical systems.  Project and team leadership.
10. Senior Physicist - Semiconductor Device / Medical Detector
Responsibilities:
·  Investigation of the physical properties and operation of semiconductor d
evices and solid state x-ray
·  Research in the areas of x-ray system prototype development and advanced 
x-ray applications
·  Design and development of digital detectors for medical applications such
 as mammography, cardiac/vascular and x-ray radiography and fluoroscopy
Requirements:
·  Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Material Science, or M.S. wit
h at least 5 yrs experience.  Familiar with semiconductor devices, thin film
s technology, material growth and characterization, detector system developm
ent, etc.
11. Research Engineer - Circuit Design / Medical Detector
Responsibilities:
·  Design and develop digital detectors for medical applications such as mam
mography, cardiac / vascular and x-ray radiography and fluoroscopy
·  Research in the areas of x-ray system prototype development and advanced 
x-ray applications
·  Participate in the preparation of proposals and grant applications
Requirements:
·  MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant with at least 2 yrs of experienc
e in Analog and digital circuit design at the component level, System integr
ation and design or other related fields.
12. Senior Research Scientist - Medical Detector
Responsibilities:
·  Design, develop and investigate the physical properties and operation of 
radiation imaging detectors
·  Develop system prototypes and invent advanced applications for detector t
echnology
·  Investigate and develop new materials for radiation detection
·  Model and improve detector and system characteristics
·  Understand the customer's point of view and translate into system and sub
-system requirements, specifications and designs.
Requirements:
·  PhD in Physics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engi
neering or related fields, or MS with relevant experience,
13.  Design engineer - Re-engineering
Responsibilities:
·  Responsible for development and implementation of R&D tasks in a collabor
ative team environment on projects as applied to Reverse-engineering, and CA
D/CAM. Principal responsibilities include: mechanical design tool developmen
t; measurement, analysis/modeling, programming development; reverse engineer
ing, leading local technical activities and teams.
Requirements:
·  MS (Ph.D. preferred) with minimum 5 years experience in CAD and reverse e
ngineering development and engineering design.  In-depth knowledge and exper
ience on developing reverse engineering algorithms and software. Familiar wi
th tools like UG, Surfacer, experience in rapid prototyping is a plus
14.   Senior R&D Engineer - Bearing Mechanics and Material Engineer
Responsibilities:
·  Participate and lead global R&D projects on bearings applied to power sys
tems, aircraft engine, motor, medical systems. Lead bearing research collabo
ration with domestic research groups.
Requirements:
·      Ph.D. or MS. in Mechanical and/or Material Engineering.  with min. 3
 years experience or equivalent with strong theoretical background on bearin
g and/or tribology work.
·     Knowledge of mechanical systems and thermal, vibration, acoustics ana
lysis.
        Desired: Hands-on experience in building the test facilities for bea
ring or its related research work.
