Group Overview    The Multimodal User Interface Group at MSR Asia is exploring
 research in advanced natural user interface technologies. Natural communicati
on with machines or with other people via machines is critical to bringing the
 benefits of networked computers to the mass market. A computer's user interfa
ce must cater to the human senses of sight, sound, and touch, which are used t
o navigate physical surroundings. New technologies are emerging that can suppo
rt human-machine communications with features that are natural to humans. The 
challenge is learning how to use these still imperfect technologies to transce
nd the benefits of a single modality.
Roles & Responsibilities    Handwriting Recognition Project is recruiting visi
ting student to accomplish:
Algorithms
Training and Evaluation Experiments
Tools for Experiments
Required Qualifications    We are looking for:
    BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, EE or Automation and possess the fo
llowing skills:
    A minimum of 3 years of C++ software development/test experience
    Excellent problem solving skills
    Knowledge of the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing is a plu
