1. Positions Applied
During the process of application, you will be required to select your preferr
ed position and location. Please cautiously select your preferred position and
location when filling out the application form.
If we feel that you are more suitable to a position other than the one you hav
e applied during the process of interview, we will communicate with you and, w
ith your agreement, transfer your application to the appropriate department.
Please do not submit more than one application at a time. If you are found to
have submitted duplicate applications, your application eligibility will be ca
ncelled automatically.
2. Application Documents
Please send the following documents as an attachment in your email and ensure
that there are no viruses hidden in the attachment:
Attachment 1 – English cover letter: please explain why you want to join McKi
nsey in the letter.
Attachment 2 - Chinese and English resumes: Please submit both Chinese and Eng
lish resumes and fit each resume on one page. If you do not submit both Chines
e and English resume together, your application eligibility will be cancelled
automatically. Please include your ID card number in your resumes.
Attachment 3 – Transcript: Please list the grade of each course in Microsoft
Word format. Applicants invited to interview are required to show the original
copy on the day of interview.

4. Application Procedure
This website is the only access to application for Business Analyst and Junior
Information Analyst positions for McKinsey Beijing and Shanghai 2006-2007. To

5. Filling The Application Form
When filling the application form, please fill in your Chinese name in Pinyin
in both "first name" and "last name" fields, and your English name in "Preferr
ed name"

Position
1. Business Analyst (Generalist)
Location: Beijing or Shanghai
This position targets individuals who have just graduated from college or have
worked for 1-2 years after graduation. These individuals must have achieved o
utstanding performance during their undergraduate study.
A business analyst is dedicated full-time to a project team, solves practical
problems, and works closely with the client at the client’s site; therefore h
e/she will soon be able to acquaint himself/herself with all aspects of manage
ment and leadership.
Applicants with a wide range of background and experience are welcome to join
McKinsey as a business analyst. Candidates must have distinct academic records
, good leadership skills, and be more mature than their contemporaries. We are
looking for smart, innovative people with a thirst for knowledge because we b
elieve that these types of candidates learn quickly and adapt readily to new j
obs.
Your first job will be a clearly defined analysis-related task with explicit e
nd products. As your skills improve and your confidence increases, you will be
assigned to handle more complicated cases. With time you will develop a compr
ehensive problem solving ability.
2. Business Analyst (Corporate Finance)
Location: Beijing or Shanghai
In addition to the qualifications required for Business Analyst (Generalist),
applicants for the position of Business Analyst (Corporate Finance) must demon
strate interest and experience in finance; for example, the applicant has inte
rned for an investment bank or majored in economics, finance, or business.
3. Junior Information Analyst
Location: Shanghai
McKinsey’s Shanghai-based China Knowledge Center is recruiting Junior Informa
tion Analysts. This position targets those college graduates who have achieved
outstanding performance during their undergraduate study. The China Knowledge
Center covers four sectors: financial institutions, consumables/retail/wholes
ale, electronics/telecommunications, and industry. McKinsey will assign analys
ts into the four groups according to their academic backgrounds, personal pref
erence and personnel coordination.
A Junior Information Analyst engages in information collection and analysis. H
e/she will receive systematic on-the-job training and quickly acquaint himself
/herself with the industry he/she is involved in under the guidance of his/her
seniors, becoming an expert in the industry. Meanwhile, the company will prov
ide an information analyst with the opportunity to work together with specific
practices. According to his/her performance and preference, the company may d
evelop him/her into an associate after a period of time, and a junior informat
ion analyst may have the opportunity of becoming a business analyst with both
industry knowledge and basic analytical skills.
