The program 
Challenge, BP’s structured graduate development program, offers you an exciti

ng opportunity to develop the right skills and gain relevant workplace experie

nce, as well as develop your business sense, financial acumen and the behaviou

rs necessary to build a trading and commercial career within BP IST. 

The program lasts for two to three years and is specifically focused on develo

ping trading professionals in IST through continual training and job rotations

. Successful candidates will spend the majority of the training program in our

 Singapore-based headquarters. 

The program gives you the opportunity to take on three different roles in sepa

rate areas of our business and potentially in different international location

s, so that you gain a broad understanding of the roles that support the tradin

g business. These functions may include: 
market analysis 
trading analysis and control 
chartering 
trading operations 
business development

Learning and development 
You’ll have a real job, aligned to your individual development needs and inte

rests, and you’ll benefit from structured on-the-job learning, plus a blended

 training approach to deepen your technical knowledge through practical applic

ation. 

You''ll receive regular appraisal and feedback from your team leader on your r

otation assignments. You''ll also have the support of a personal mentor and an

 assigned buddy throughout the programme. 

Towards the end of your training period, you’ll have the opportunity to atten

d an Assessed Traders Course with the possibility of moving directly into a ju

nior trading role. 

Upon completion of the Assessed Traders Course, you will be presented with opp

ortunities to further pursue your career within BP IST. By either joining the 

dynamic trading benches as a trader or identifying future trading opportunitie

s with our business development team, your career possibilities with BP IST ar

e limitless. Other possible roles include trading operations, trading analytic

s, risk management, and more.

Entry requirements 
We’re seeking self-motivated individuals who can demonstrate clear strategic 

thinking, diverse business exposure and awareness, strong financial acumen, ef

fective influencing skills, strong drive to learn and succeed, as well as a po

sitive team spirit. 

Essential: strong academic record and fluency in English 

Preferred: BBA/BA/BS in Business, Economics, Finance or Technical disciplines.

 MBA students interested in a trading career.
