GE(中国)研究开发中心将于2003年在上海浦东张江高科技园区正式落成并投入使用。
这是除了纽约和印度班加罗尔的研发中心以外, GE的第三个全球研发中心。上海研发中心
有27个实验室,主要有三个功能:
基础和应用研究开发。
为当地客户和GE在中国的采购业务提供设计和应用技术上的支持。
员工、客户和战略供应商的学习和教育中心。
今年,研发中心在哈尔滨工业大学招聘的主要职位如下
实验室——CTL
Electrochemists (GECRD/280664/WB1475)
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop electrochemistry-based routes for hydrogen production an
d storage for specific applications
Qualifications/Requirements:
· PhD/MS in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering;
· strong background in physical/inorganic electrochemistry or photoelectroche
mistry;
· research experience in designing advanced electrode materials for hydrogen
charging/discharging and electrochemical kinetics.;
· in-depth knowledge in electrochemical measurement and analytical characteri
zation of hydrogen storage materials.
· Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized for unrestr
icted work in China.
Research Scientists – Electroactive Polymers (GECRD/285953/WB1475)
Responsibilities:
· Design, synthesize and characterize novel electro-active polymers for desir
ed applications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· PhD/MS in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering with a strong
background in electro-active polymers.
· Demonstrate creativity, ability to design, lead and execute research progra
ms
· Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized for unrestr

Coating Scientist / Engineer (GECRD/285954/WB1475)
Responsibilities:
· As a member of coating team to develop next generation organic/inorganic co
atings for a variety of applications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· PhD/MS in Chemistry or related sciences with strong experience in synthetic
methodology.
· Hands-on experiences in organic/inorganic synthesis, sol-gel processes, sil
icone chemistry and coating applications are required.
· Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized for unrestr
icted work in China

Senior R&D Engineer – Power Electronics(GECRD/246165/WB1475)
Responsibilities:
· Participate and lead global R&D projects as applied to power systems, indus
trial systems, lighting systems, medical systems and transportation systems.
· Responsibilities also include business development activities to support GE
’s presence in China
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or M.S. with min. 3 years exp
erience or equivalent with strong theoretical background.
· Knowledge of power electronic devices, circuits, controls and thermal desig
n/analysis. Knowledge of power electronics applications in motor drives, unint
erruptible power supplies, and power systems. Expertise in simulation tools su
ch as Saber, PSpice, Matlab/Simulink. Multi-national company or overseas exper
ience.
· Desired: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Experience in renewabl
e energy systems.

Laser Consolidation Scientist(GECRD/282215/WB1475)
Responsibilities:
· Work with global R&D team to develop solutions to industrial problems using
laser consolidation and direct deposition of material / net shape build-up.
· Problems will often require knowledge of laser control and materials proces
sing methods, super alloy material property knowledge and closed loop feedback
and control.
· General knowledge of laser control, mechanical engineering at an advanced l
evel is required.
· The ability to understand and translate fundamental advances in laser syste
m and related technologies into practical solutions is required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Ph.D. or MS with several years experience in physics or engineering
· Strong background in lasers and materials processing, mechanical engineerin
g, and control
· Knowledge on CAD/CAM
· Past experience on laser consolidation, laser cladding is a a strong plus
· Effective written and oral communication/ presentation skills, good interpe
rsonal skills
· Self-starter, able to work alone or as a member of a team. Project manageme
nt experience will be a plus.

Senior R&D Engineer - Control System Development (GRCRD/306311/CC465)
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for development of new control system technologies for a wide r
ange of GE products. The application space includes concept development, desig
n, simulation, software coding and hardware implementation. State-of-the-art c
ontrol systems for gas/steam turbines, wind turbines, motor drives, distribute
d power generation systems and medical systems are among the current projects.
This position within the Real-time/Power Controls at GE Global Research is fo
r an energetic candidate with the desire to work with world-class control expe
rts both at GE GRC and within the GE businesses.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechantronics, or MS with practi
cal laboratory experience.
· Demonstrated proficiency in control systems, signal processing, system iden
tification and optimization is required.
· Strong software skills - C, C++ expertise.
· Strong simulation skills - MATLAB, EASY5, MATRIXx, or similar simulation pa
ckage.
· Experience with Unix platform coding is desired.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in glob
al teams are essential.
Senior R&D Engineer - Real-Time Controls (GECRD/213420/WB1475)
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for architecture, design, specification and implementation of r
eal-time control systems. The application space includes design and developmen
t of real-time control software and firmware, DSP system design, FPGA logic de
velopment, and system simulation. State-of-the-art real-time systems for advan
ced electrical and electromechanical energy conversion systems, distributed po
wer generation systems, high performance motor drives, and medical electronics
are among the current projects. This position within the Real-time/Power Cont
rols at GE Global Research is for an energetic candidate with the desire to wo
rk with world-class real-time control experts both at GE GRC and within the GE
businesses.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechantronics, or Computer Scien
ce, or MS with practical laboratory experience.
· Demonstrated proficiency in the architecture, design, and implementation of
real-time control systems as well as thorough understanding of underlying the
ory is required.
· Strong software skills - C, C++ expertise. Analog and digital circuit desig
n skills.
· Strong simulation skills desired. Experience on DSP, Verilog/VHDL logic pro
gramming/simulation, and real-time C code development is a real plus.
· Experience with electric motors, power electronics, drives, servos, signal
processing and the controls.
· Experience with serial communications links such as CANbus, DeviceNet, Prof
ibus, real-time Ethernet.
· Experience with circuit design tools.
· Experience with RTOS (VxWorks, QNX, ucOS, LinuxRT) is a plus.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in glob
al teams are essential.

ence in magnet materials, magnet test and characterization. ·
