Nestlé, the world's largest food manufacturer, was established in 1867 in S

witzerland. The company's sales in 2002 reached RMB 530 billion.
Nestlé's range of world-renowned products and beverages includes milk powde

r, condensed milk, infant nutrition products, yogurts, ice cream, coffee, in

stant chocolate and tea beverages, mineral water, chocolate and confectionar

y goods, bouillons, sauces, seasonings, culinary products, and frozen foods.

 The Nestlé Group is also involved in non-food-related products, including
ophthalmic products (Alcon) and a minority participation in the L'Oreal cosm

etics group. Nestlé operates 508 factories worldwide and employs 254,000 pe

ople.
Nestlé established its first trading office in Shanghai as early as 1908. I

n order to better serve the entire China area, Nestlé opened its Corporate
Head Office in Beijing in 1995. To date, Nestlé in China has a total invest

ment of RMB 6.7 billion operating 21 world class factories. Nestlé in China

 employs more than 9,000 people, and its total sales were about RMB 8.5 bill

ion in 2002.
Nestlé manufacture a wide range of food products and beverages in Mainland
China including NESPRAY, NESCAFE, NESTEA, KITKAT, MILO, POLO, MAGGI, Nestlé

 Mineral Water, TOTOLE, etc.
