1.  Project Manager - Hydrogen Storage Materials (GECRD/277329/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Strategically direct research activities in global team on high 
performance hydrogen storage systems 
·       Explore potential application of hydrogen storage materials 
·       Build collaboration with domestic and global research groups 

Requirements: 
·       Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, 
Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline

·       At least 10 years working experience and minimum 5 years R&D 
experience in different hydrogen storage modalities. 

·       Well know the development barriers for hydrogen storage 
modalities. At least 3 years project managing experience in new materials 
development

2. Material Scientists(GECRD/277332/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Develop advanced materials for hydrogen storage and hydrogen 
storage systems 

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering; 
·       experience in developing materials for hydrogen storage 
applications (e.g., composite materials, chemical/metal hydrides and carbon 
nano-materials); 

·       Strong background in materials design, processing and 
characterization.

3. Electrochemists(GECRD/280664/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Design and develop electrochemistry-based routes for hydrogen 
production and storage for specific applications 

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering; 
·       strong background in physical/inorganic electrochemistry or 
photoelectrochemistry; 
·       research experience in designing advanced electrode materials for 
hydrogen charging/discharging and electrochemical kinetics.;

·       in-depth knowledge in electrochemical measurement and analytical 
characterization of hydrogen storage materials.

·       Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized 
for unrestricted work in China. 

4. System Engineers(GECRD/280665/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Identify opportunities and develop models for hydrogen storage 
applications. 

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Material 
Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline;

·       Strong background in system design and modeling.  
·       The candidates should have direct experience in hydrogen storage 
research and understand major opportunities and critical barriers in the 
field; in-depth knowledge in thermal and electrochemical modeling.  

·       Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized 
for unrestricted work in China. 

5. Inorganic Chemists(GEGR/280734/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Develop high performance chemical hydrides for hydrogen  
applications 

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering; 
·       strong background in inorganic synthesis, catalysis, solution 
chemistry and materials characterization.  
·       Hands-on experience in developing chemical hydrides/catalyst 
systems (e.g, water or ammonia-based) for hydrogen storage is desired.  

·       In-depth knowledge in material characterization is a plus.  
·       Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized 
for unrestricted work in China. 

6. Process Engineers(GEGR/280735/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Develop synthetic approaches for hydrogen storage materials 
fabrication 

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemical Engineering,, Material Science or related 
discipline; 
·       strong background in inorganic materials synthesis, processes and 
characterization.  
·       The candidates should have extensive experience in nano material 
processing and characterization.  
·       In-depth knowledge in hydrogen storage is a plus. 
·       Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized 
for unrestricted work in China. 

7. Carbon Nano Materials Specialists(GEGR/280736/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Develop, understand and improve carbon-based materials for 
hydrogen storage 

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or Chemical 
Engineering.  
·       Extensive experience in carbon-based materials, especially carbon 
nanotubes; 
·       direct research experience in carbon materials for hydrogen 
storage; 
·       strong background in carbon-related materials processes (e.g., 
nano tubes) and characterization.   
·       Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized 
for unrestricted work in China. 

8. Metal Hydride Specialists(GEGR/280737/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Conduct research in metal hydride materials and develop advanced 
materials (composition, microstructure, processing) for enhanced hydrogen 
storage

Qualifications/Requirements: 
·       PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgy, Material Science, Chemical 
Engineering or related discipline; 
·       strong background in inorganic chemistry, solid state processes, 
physical metallurgy and materials characterization.

·       Direct research experience (synthesis, processes and 
characterization) in metal hydride materials (both heavy and light 
elements, especially with low temperature hydrides) is desired.  

·       Candidates must be fluent in English and Chinese and authorized 
for unrestricted work in China. 

9.  Senior Research Engineer - Magnet Expert (GECRD/223211/AN000) 
Responsibility: 
·       Design of advanced electromechanical devices including permanent 
magnets and electrical machines, magnetic materials characterization

Perform advanced electromagnetic, structural and thermal analyses studies. 
Assist to establish and serve as liaison to any future advanced magnet 
manufacturing facilities in GE. 
Permanent magnet expert who participates in novel magnet concept generation 
including application of new materials, EM design, and design tools. 
Requirements: 

M. S. or Ph.D in Physics, E.E. or M.E., with minimum 3 years experience. 
Experience in magnetic materials applications and using at least one of 3-D 
modeling and finite element codes (ANSYS, OPERA, EMAS, ABAQUS, IDEAS, 
PATRAN, NASTRAN, etc.). 
Experience in design and analysis of permanent magnet, superconducting 
magnets and electrical machines, such as MRI magnets, large motors or 
generators preferred. 
Familiarity with design for quality, statistical processes preferred.  




10.  Senior R&D Engineer - Power Electronics (GECRD/246165/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Participate and lead global R&D  projects as applied to power systems, 
motor drives, power supplies, lighting electronics, and medical electronics 
, Responsible for reliability programs in research and development of new 
electrical and electronic systems, 

Requirements: 

Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or M.S.  with min. 3 years 
experience or equivalent with strong theoretical background. 
Knowledge of power electronic circuits and systems including devices, 
circuit topologies, and thermal design/analysis.  Expertise in simulation 
tools such as Saber, PSpice, Matlab/Simulink. 
Desired: Hands-on experience in building power electronic circuits and 
specific experience in lighting electronics. 


11. Senior R&D Engineer - Analog/ Digital Design (GECRD/272036/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Analog/mixed signal design with roles including system and architecture 
simulation, and analog sub-block design at the transistor level. 
Develop mixed signal IC's for use in GE products utilizing advanced BiCMOS 
and CMOS processes. Discrete time and continuous time circuits as well as a 
digital content. 

Requirements: 

MS in Electrical Engineering with analog or mixed-signal design experience, 
Knowledge on IC design process using both bipolar and CMOS processes as 
applied towards developing high speed and high precision analog products. 
Principles of CMOS and Bipolar device physics and a basic knowledge of 
linear circuit principles is required.  Demonstrated proficiency in circuit 
design, analysis and effective use of CAE/CAD design tools, and knowledge 
in low noise system design. Desired: Ph.D. in Engineering or Physics with 
specific competence in system partitioning and in CMOS analog/digital 
design techniques, simulation, layout, and testing. Demonstrated knowledge 
in DSP design. 

12.  Senior R&D Engineer - Real-Time Controls (GECRD/213420/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Real-time SW/HW development for advanced electrical and electromechanical 
energy conversion systems. Responsible for real-time control software, DSP 
and control hardware design, FPGA logic development, system simulation, 
real-time executive and infrastructure development. 

Requirements: 

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechantronics, or Computer 
Science, or MS with practical laboratory experience, 
Strong software skills - C, C++ expertise. Analog and digital circuit 
design skills. Strong simulation skills desired. Experience on DSP, 
Verilog/VHDL logic programming/simulation, and real-time C code development 
is a real plus. Experience with electric motors, power electronics, drives, 
servos, signal processing and the controls. Experience with serial 
communications links such as CANbus, DeviceNet, Profibus. Experience with 
circuit design tools 

13.  Senior R&D Engineer - Electric Power Systems (GECRD/230130/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Participate and lead global R&D projects on electric power systems related 
to system automation, EMS/DMS, and large power electronics equipment 
interconnected to power grids. 
Performs research in electrical energy & power focused on future power 
systems including alternative energy, and distributed/dispersed generation. 
Specific applications include, but are not limited to wind power, 
micro-grids, power system automation and power system modeling, analysis, 
control & optimization. Key customers include GE Power Systems, GE 
Industrial Systems, and Federal & State Government Agencies. 
Responsibilities also include proposals and business development 
activities, patent applications, oral presentations for management & 
customer review, project leadership including planning & execution phases, 
budgets & schedules, and exemplify GE values, make full use of GE 
initiatives. 


Requirements: 

Ph.D. or MS with experience in E.E. In depth knowledge on operation, 
control, analysis and modeling of electrical power systems and equipment.  
Particular emphasis on power system engineering and the associated 
experience to various applications is critical. The candidate must also 
have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills. 
Familiarity or experience with one or more of the following is desired: 
Real-time control system & infrastructure development, real-time 
communication, embedded hardware and software design, simulation tools such 
as EMTDC or PSCAD. 


14.  Senior Design engineer - Adaptive CNC  (GECRD/279287/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Responsible for development and implementation of R&D tasks in a 
global collaborative team environment on projects as applied to adaptive 
manufacturing, NC/CNC generation and CAM. Principal responsibilities 
include: adaptive NC/CNC software development from 3D geometry to model 
based manufacturing; develop CNC/NC generation system and codes for 
traditional machining and special machining system like laser forming.

Requirements: 

MS (Ph.D. preferred) with minimum 5 years experience in developing CAM 
software or special NC/CNC code generation software package.  Good 
understanding on machining process development and engineering design.  
In-depth knowledge and experience on software development. Familiar with 
CAD/CAM tools like UG, Surfacer, experience in rapid prototyping is a plus 


15.  Senior Design engineer - EDM  (GECRD/279289/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Responsible for development and implementation of R&D tasks in a global 
collaborative team environment on projects as applied to electric chemical 
discharging manufacturing (ECDM).  Principal responsibilities are to 
develop a cutting edge power supply and control system for the advanced 
ECDM system; conduct sophisticated 3D geometry ECDM processing tests, and 
system integration. 

Requirements: 

MS (Ph.D. preferred) with minimum 5 years experience in developing 
ECM/EDM/ECDM machinery on power supply, servo control system, and NC 
programming generation.  System integration experience is preferred.  Good 
understanding on special machining methods and processes.  CAD/CAM 
experience will be a plus. 

16.  Laser Consolidation Scientist  (GECRD/282215/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Work with global R&D team to develop solutions to industrial problems using 
laser consolidation and direct deposition of material / net shape 
build-up.  
Problems will often require knowledge of laser control and materials 
processing methods, super alloy material property knowledge and closed loop 
feedback and control. 
General knowledge of laser control, mechanical engineering at an advanced 
level is required. 
The ability to understand and translate fundamental advances in laser 
system and related technologies into practical solutions is required. 

Requirement: 

Ph.D. or MS with several years experience in physics or engineering 
Strong background in lasers and materials processing, mechanical 
engineering, and control 
Knowledge on CAD/CAM 
Past experience on laser consolidation, laser cladding is a a strong plus 
Effective written and oral communication/ presentation skills, good 
interpersonal skills 
Self-starter, able to work alone or as a member of a team. Project 
management experience will be a plus. 


17.  Senior Mechanical Engineer(GECRD/282314/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 
·       Perform electromagnetic, thermal and structural design studies of 
advanced electro-mechanical devices including permanent magnet components. 

·       Be responsible for detailed technical designs, drafting, 
manufacturing and testing of       magnet and system components and 
prototypes, including coordination of a variety of projects. 

Requirements: 
·       Broad based design and analysis skills with major emphasis on 
electromagnetic, structural, stress, thermal and combined analysis. 

·       M.S or Ph.D graduate with at least 2 years experiences in 
electromagnetic, mechanical, thermal and stress design of elctromechanical 
devices, in particular permanent magnets, pulse coils, gradients and/or MRI 
components. 

·       Experience in manufacturing and design for manufacturing of 
electromechanical devices.       
·       Strong communication and people skills and a good team player. 
·       Experience in numerical analysis tools and optimization methods. 
·       Familiar with commercial codes, e.g. ANSYS, IDEAS, UG and other 
CAD codes.

18.  Senior Engineer - Cutting Tools(GECRD/286760/AN000)  
Responsibilities: 
·       Work with global R&D team to develop solutions to industrial 
problems with three dimensional, complex geometrical cutting tools, and its 
application.  Problems will often require knowledge of 3D cutter 
measurement, design, evaluation and repairing.  

Requirement: 

Ph.D. or master with several years experience in mechanical engineering 
Strong background in cutting tooling design, measurement and control 
Experience on optical measurement and laser scanner device will be a plus 
Knowledge on CAD/CAM such as UG, Surfacer 
Past experience on software development is a strong plus 
Effective written and oral English communication/ presentation skills, good

19.  Senior Design Engineer - Re-engineering (GECRD/264679/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

Responsible for development and implementation of R&D tasks in a 
collaborative team environment on projects as applied to 
Reverse-engineering, and CAD/CAM. Principal responsibilities include: 
mechanical design tool development; measurement, analysis/modeling, 
programming development; reverse engineering, leading local technical 
activities and teams. 

Requirements: 

MS (Ph.D. preferred) with minimum 5 years experience in CAD and reverse 
engineering development and engineering design.  In-depth knowledge and 
experience on developing reverse engineering algorithms and software. 
Familiar with tools like UG, Surfacer, experience in rapid prototyping is a 
plus 


20.  Senior Engineer - Process Monitoring (GECRD/285143/AN000) 
 Responsibilities: 

Develop process monitoring, signal feedback and close loop control system 
for machining processes especially broaching, turning and milling 
operations.  Problems will often require knowledge of process monitoring 
sensors and measurement system, machining surface integrity analysis and 
modeling, signal processing and feedback to CNC control system. 

Requirement: 

Ph.D. or master with several years experience in mechanical engineering 
Strong background in process monitoring techniques or commercial systems 
such as power, force, vibration and acoustic emission sensor and 
measurement system 
Experience on process modeling and analysis, familiar with machining

21. Senior Engineer - Bearings (GECRD/283741/AN000) 
Responsibilities: 

·       Will be primarily responsible for providing technology inputs for 
sourcing antifriction bearings for transportation, aircraft engines 
businesses. 

·       Should have in-depth knowledge of antifriction and hydrodynamic 
bearings, evaluate different bearing designs of different vendors and 
shortlist the most appropriate ones.

Requirements: 

·       MS in Mechanical Engineering with background in Tribology of 
bearings (antifriction bearings and Hydrodynamic bearings).

ultrasonic inspection, material property knowledge. 

·       The ability to understand and translate fundamental advances in 
NDT and related technologies into practical solutions is required. 

Requirement: 

·       BS or above degree with several years experience in NDT 
disciplines in engineering 
·       Strong industry background and hands on NDT technology 
·       American Society of NDT Level III certification (or Chinese 
equivalent) in Radiography and Ultrasound 
·       Preferable if Certified in ASNT Level III in other techniques such 
as magnetic particle, dye penetrant

Responsibilities: 

·       Carry on various of hands on work in mechanical testing, 
inspection, and qualification labs
