威盛电子大事记：
1992年09月，在台湾注册成立，专注于个人电脑主机板使用的IC设计；
1999年03月，在台湾挂牌上市；
1999年08月，并购美国国家半导体公司微处理器事业部(Cyrix)；
1999年09月，并购美国IDT公司；
1999年11月，与美国S3公司合作，成立S3－VIA公司，进军整合芯片组市场；


2000年07月，威盛电子芯片组(chipset)产销量位居全球第一；
2000年10月，决定增资大陆，在北京、上海等地设立研发中心。
2002年02月，正式推动"迦南计划"，成立芯片组、处理器、绘图芯片、网络与光储存芯
片
             五大产品事业部。
2002年03月，发表威盛首款DVD光驱控制单芯片，正式进军光储存市场
2002年05月，宣布并购LSI Logic公司CDMA标准产品设计中心，跨入无线通讯领域

Position 1: Software Engineers
Responsibilities:
  - Work on Windows display device driver, including 2D, 3D, DVD and video p
layback and capture.
-New chip bring-up.


Requirements:
- Master degree or above
- Very solid C or X86 Assembly programming and debug skills.
   - Knowledge in Microsoft DDKs and SDKs are also required.
   - Understanding of Windows structure and internals are required.
   - Understanding of 2D/3D graphics algorithms is highly desirable.
   - Familiar with kernel debugging tools such as Softice and Win debugger.
-Familiar with PC architecture and PCI protocol.
Position2: ASIC Design/Verification Engineers
Responsibilities:
-Study and understand higher level specifications.
-Implement designs using hardware language and standard synthesis tools.
-Verify designs by building testbench, writing vectors and running simulatio
n .
Requirements:
-MS, major in Microelectronics, Computer Science and related fields.
-Familiar with hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL).
-Familiar with design tools (logic simulators, synthesizers.) .
-Must be a team player with strong analytical and communication skills.
Position3: Architecture Modeling Engineer/Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
-Build bit accurate functional model to simulate leading edge multimedia (3D


 and Video)
 algorithms. Define the hardware bit accurate implementation algorithms whic
h can meet
 both quality requirement and gate budget.
-Verify the ASIC design by building a bit accurate verification environment.
 
Requirements:
-Strong programming skill in C/C++.
-Experience in big software project development is preferred.
-MS in CS/EE/MATH is required.
-MS in Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics are particularly
qualified for architecture department positions.
Position4: Graphics/Video Algorithms Engineer/Graphics Architect
Responsibilities:
-Work on hardware macro-architecture and algorithms design. Define the hardw
are
 macro-architecture which can meet both gate budget and performance target.
-Research in the leading edge 3D graphics algorithms and build a performance
 model for
 a given macro-architecture.
Requirements:
-Strong academic training in computational mathematics, 3D graphics algorith


ms and image processing algorithms. strong C programming skill is required.
Experience in optimization algorithms is a plus.
-MS degree in CS/EE/MATH is required. PhD is preferred.
-MS in Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics are particularly qu
alified for architecture department positions
Position 5: VLSI Physical Design and CAD Engineers/S3 Graphics
Responsibilities:
-Responsible for multi-million gates S.O.C. physical design using Synopsys,
Avanti, Cadence, Mentor design tools and also exploring and evaluating new d
esign methodologies and VLSI design tools.
-Hands-on tapeout of multi-million gates design with advanced design methodo
logy and design tools.
-Tasks include chip level floorplan, logic synthesis, power distribution, pl
ace and route, clock distribution, extraction, verification, signal integrit
y, circuit simulation and analysis.
Requirements:
-MS of EE/CS with good knowledge of VLSI physical design flow and tools, and
 chip fabrication process and related issues.
-Ability to work in a team environment.
