TECO-Westinghouse全球研发中心是东元集团重电事业部直属的专业马达研究机构，在美
国德州的Austin、中國台湾和大陆无锡设有分支机构。研发中心致力于研究和开发各类

Position I

Job Description for a Mechanical Engineer Position at the R & D center of TE
CO-Westinghouse Motor in Wuxi
TECO Westinghouse Motor Company (TWMC) is seeking potential qualified candid
ates to join its R & D center in Wuxi/China. The selected candidates will wo
rk closely with TWMC R & D staffs in USA in the future and will be trained i
n US prior to carry out the projects.
Qualification
1. Ph.D or Master degree in mechanical Engineering;
2. 5-10 years experience in research and designs of rotating machines;
3. 1-2 years experience in Finite Element Analysis of mechanical structures 
(thermal, fluid, vibration, noise, and structural);
4. 1+ year experience in using CAD packages (3D CAD preferred) for mechanica
l designs;
5. Knowledgeable in fundamentals of mechanical design concepts for motors (i
nduction, synchronous, and direct current motors);
6. Good English skills in writing, reading and speaking.
Responsibilities
1. Creating finite element models and conducting finite element analysis usi
ng commercial FEA codes (for motor components and systems: stator, rotor, be
aring, fans and frame as well as other devices);
2. Use computational fluid dynamics methods to improve motor cooling and noi
se level characteristics;
3. Performing vibration, air flow and noise measurements using modern instru
ments and interpreting the results to improve the new/existing products;
4. Recommend improvements to mechanical design programs
5. Provide technical support for troubleshooting in support of shop and serv
ice division.

Position II

TECO Westinghouse Motor Company (TWMC) is seeking potential qualified candid
ates to join its R & D center in Wuxi/China. The selected candidates will wo
rk closely with TWMC R & D staffs in USA in the future and will be trained i
n US prior to carry out the projects.
Qualification & Responsibility
1. Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. 2- 3 years experience in design of mechanical components of motors (induc
tion, synchronous and direct current motors);
3. 1+ year experience in using CAD packages (3D CAD preferred) for mechanica
l designs;
4. 1+ year experience in finite element analysis (FEA) methods to develop mo
dels of structures for motor components and systems (stator, rotor, bearing,
 fans, bearing brackets, and frame);
5. Capable of conducting critical speed analysis using selected software;
6. Capable of performing vibration, air flow and noise measurements using mo
dern instruments (such as HP analyzer instrument) and interpreting the resul
ts;
7. Proficient in communicating and coordinating design reviews and discussio
n with other internal team members;
8. Proficient in understanding standard motor manufacturing processes and to
ols such as balance machine;
9. Provide technical support for troubleshooting in support shop;
10. Good English skills in writing, reading and speaking.
