 well as experienced engineers) for the following positions of GE CRD in Shang
hai and offer excellent compensation and benefits package and a great working

1. Electronic Lab Specialist 
Responsibilities:
· Manage the electronic lab.  Responsible for lab operation, equipment, and s
afety standards. Participate in physical prototype design, construction, and t
esting of a wide variety of GE products including control electronics, electri
cal machines/drives, appliances, and lighting. 

Requirements:
· BSEE with 3 to 10 years experience.  Practical laboratory experience and go
od computer skills.  Strong circuit and mechanical design skills.  Experience 
with both mechanical CAD and electronic CAE tools.
· Desired: Experience with CAE tools such as Cadence/Mentor Graphics for circ
uit design. Expertise in CAD tools such as ProE/AutoCAD. 

2. Electronics Packaging & Thermal Design Engineer 
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement mechanical and thermal design R&D tasks for electrica
l and electronic systems on projects as applied to motor drives, power supplie
s, lighting electronics, and medical electronics.  Concept formulation, analys
is/modeling, thermal design and validation of power electronic circuits and sy
stems.

Requirements:
· Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering or M.S. with min
. 3 years experience or equivalent with strong theoretical background in the a
rea of thermal design and analysis. 
· Desired: In-depth knowledge of thermal management techniques for electronic
s, thermal design of electronics and power electronics circuits and systems. E
xpertise in thermal simulation tools such as CFD and FEA. 

3.  PCB Design Engineer 
Responsibilities:
· Specify, design and verify digital and/or analog circuit card assemblies fo
r R&D projects. Work with Project Leads and System Engineers to contribute to 
detailing requirement specifications. Translate requirement specifications to 
circuit realizations using simulation, modeling and statistical design methods
. Design and verify circuit cards on bench and in target systems. 

Requirements:
· BSEE with 4+ years circuit card design experience. Experience with circuit 
and/or board simulation. Experience with design for assembly /testability.
· Desired: MSEE with 3+ years experience. Experience with Cadence or similar 
CAE tools, Solaris, C; Knowledge of surface mount technology; Experience with 
design for reliability and design to cost; Experience creating Verilog/VHDL  i
mplementations of programmable logic and/or ASICs.

4.  Electromagnetics Engineer 
Responsibilities:
· R&D tasks on design of electromagnetics for high frequency power supplies s
uch as electronic lighting ballasts as well as design of electrical machines. 


Requirements:
· PhD in EE or MSEE with 3+ years experience. In-depth understanding of elect
romagnetics and electrical machinery. Candidates should be skilled in electrom
agnetic modeling/analysis and experienced with FE tools. 
· Desired: Strong computer skills. Knowledge in power electronics. Specific e
xperience in design of high frequency inductors, induction motors, and PM sync
hronous motors.

5.  Senior R&D Engineer - Electric Power Systems 
Responsibilities:
· Participate and lead global R&D projects on electric power systems related 
to distributed generation, FACTS, motor drives, and other large power electron
ics equipment interconnected to power grids.

Requirements:
· Ph.D. or MS with experience in E.E. In depth knowledge on operation, contro
l, analysis and modeling of power systems and equipment.  Experience with simu
lation tools such as EMTP or EMTDC. 
· Desired: Familiar with power electronics applications in power transmission
 and distribution. Experience on power quality, harmonics, and transient analy
sis.

6.  Senior R&D Engineer – Power Electronics 
Responsibilities:
· Participate and lead global R&D  projects as applied to power systems, moto
r drives, power supplies, lighting electronics, and medical electronics , Resp
onsible for reliability programs in research and development of new electrical
 and electronic systems, 

Requirements:
· Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or M.S.  with min. 3 years ex
perience or equivalent with strong theoretical background. 
· Knowledge of power electronic circuits and systems including devices, circu
it topologies, and thermal design/analysis.  Expertise in simulation tools suc
h as Saber, PSpice, Matlab/Simulink.
· Desired: Hands-on experience in building power electronic circuits and spec
ific experience in lighting electronics.

7.  Senior R&D Engineer - Real-Time Controls
Responsibilities:
· Real-time SW/HW development for advanced electrical and electromechanical e
nergy conversion systems. Responsible for real-time control software, DSP and 
control hardware design, FPGA logic development, system simulation, real-time 
executive and infrastructure development. 

Requirements:
· PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechantronics, or Computer Scien
ce, or MS with practical laboratory experience,
· Strong software skills - C, C++ expertise. Analog and digital circuit desig
n skills. Strong simulation skills desired. Experience on DSP, Verilog/VHDL lo
gic programming/simulation, and real-time C code development is a real plus. E
xperience with electric motors, power electronics, drives, servos, signal proc
essing and the controls. Experience with serial communications links such as C
ANbus, DeviceNet, Profibus. Experience with circuit design tools 

8.  Senior R&D Engineer – Control Systems
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for development of new control system technologies in a global 
team environment for a wide variety of GE businesses/products.  Principal resp
onsibilities include: concept development, system modeling, analysis, design, 
simulation, and control algorithm development and implementation.  This positi
on is for high potential candidates with world-class expertise and motivation.
 

Requirements:
· Ph.D. in EE or ME, or MS with at least 3 years experience with a specializa
tion in control systems.  
· Strong theoretical understanding of control systems, signal processing, est
imation theory, Kalman filtering, system identification and optimization.
· Proficiency with simulation using Matlab/Simulink, LabView, Dspace, Easy5, 
MatixX or similar simulation package. 

9.  Senior Physicist/Material Scientist  - Semiconductor Device / Medical Dete
ctor  
Responsibilities:
· Investigate and develop new materials for radiation detection
· Develop and optimize materials for new applications in medical imaging
· Investigate the physical properties and operation of semiconductor devices 
and solid state x-ray detectors 
· Develop digital detectors for medical applications such as mammography, car
diac/vascular and x-ray radiography and fluoroscopy

Requirements:
· Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Material Science, or M.S. with 
at least 5 years experience.   Qualified candidates will be knowledgeable in s
emiconductor device physics, thin film technology, material growth and charact
erization, detector system development, or other related fields. 

10.  Senior R&D Engineer – Permanent Magnet Materials or Design 
Responsibilities:
· Materials characterization, or Design on advanced electromechanical devices
 including permanent magnet and electrical machines.
· Perform advanced electromagnetic, structural and thermal analyses to suppor
t design studies.  

Requirements:
· PhD or MS with experience in E.E., M.E., or Physics. Familiarity with perma
nent magnet materials, design for quality, statistical processes preferred.  E
xperience in using 3-D modeling and finite element analysis. Experience in des
ign and analysis of permanent magnet, and electrical machines, such as large m
otors and generators preferred.


11.  Senior R&D Engineer - Ceramics / Single Crystal Materials
Responsibilities:
· Research & development in optical and electronic inorganic materials. The e
mphasis will be on growth, characterization, and manufacturing of single cryst
al materials including scintillators, piezoelectrics, and large band-gap elect
ronic materials.  Assist in establishing projects and serve as liaison to mate
rials R&D institutions in China.
Requirements:
· Experience in oxide or semiconducting single crystal growth by high pressur
e Bridgeman or Czochralski methods.
· MS in ceramic engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science or equival
ent, with at least 5 years experience.
· Desired:  Ph.D. in above areas, familiar with electronic ceramic fabricatio
n and properties.


12.  Senior Design Engineer – Re-engineering  
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for development and implementation of R&D tasks in a collaborat
ive team environment on projects as applied to Reverse-engineering, and CAD/CA
M. Principal responsibilities include: mechanical design tool development; mea
surement, analysis/modeling, programming development; reverse engineering, lea
ding local technical activities and teams.
Requirements:
· MS (Ph.D. preferred) with minimum 5 years experience in CAD and reverse eng
ineering development and engineering design.  In-depth knowledge and experienc
e on developing reverse engineering algorithms and software. Familiar with too
ls like UG, Surfacer, experience in rapid prototyping is a plus
